A Devotion from the Student Chaplain
"May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope," 2 Thessalonians 2:16
Welcome back Southwestern! Happy New Year and God Bless! Here comes all the cliché comments on New Year's resolutions and gym memberships. I thought about writing every cliché resolution but even that in itself is cliché! Instead I'd like to focus on the verse above and just encourage you that the new year is a good time to reflect. Last year had it's storms. For me it did for sure. Remember to look to God's love and grace when things get tough. He is there to calm your storms. He only asks that you truly let Him. This is a new semester. A chance to step back and look ahead before things get too hectic. I invite you to pray before the semester gets too busy and ask Jesus to help Him become real in your life. It's not an easy thing battling school, social, financial, and spiritual aspects of life. Ask Him to take some of the load!
